Ryan Murphy on Kurt and his future boyfriend (Paley Center, Feb. 2011):
“I am not interested in seeing that kid be gay bashed. I’m not interested in seeing that kid be picked on. I’m interested in him winning, and being popular, and a survivor. And him being a role model to so many gay kids who watch that show who can see that character and say “I can be that”…. He’s going to have a boyfriend who is going to be very different but equally as fabulous…and I want them to become the power couple of the school...and they will be.”
“All I ask is that I am the better looking of the two.” - Chris Colfer
Remember when?
those two ‘gay guys… lol because obviously all gays are fashionable and fashionable men are obviously gay. wtf glee?
I want my senior year to be magic.
I love how inspiration and uplifting this show is!!!!

A warning to start: Any huge Rachel-stans, please don’t read. It’ll only piss you off and I don’t want any hate. I’m leaving it untagged because of this, so please, if you disagree, I’m sorry but this is just my opinion. And I needed a good rant, so.
It’s occurred to me now what Glee has been doing for the past three seasons. With Kurt and his storylines and everything. Not so much with the first season, I guess, but more and more as it progressed.
Kurt is seriously just a pawn in Rachel’s fucking storyline.
Everyone is a pawn in her fucking storyline. Finn, Kurt, everyone.
But this rant is just about Kurt.
Rachel feels down about her talent? There’s Kurt to the rescue, to pick her back up and set her back on the path of stardom. Offhanded comments about her being annoying yet talented, the Barbravention, comforting her in the car in the first episode of season 3 when she bitched about the NYADA kids being so good. Every fucking time, Kurt’s there to pick up the pieces of whatever breakdown Rachel is having at the moment. She barely ever returns the favour, and when she does, never as enthusiastically as he does.
Rachel has to decide between Finn and New York? Kurt breaks her into the Gershwin theatre to help her decide, and it’s never about him. He wants to be on that stage just as much as she does, but noooo. It’s all about Rachel, and her horribly painful decision she has to make about Finn. That’s it.
Rachel wants to get into NYADA? Well, gotta have Kurt wanna get in there too, so that they can have him succeed up until the final audition, only to fail to make Rachel’s success seem all the more special. Nevermind that Kurt actually did audition properly and *killed* it, and didn’t fucking blow it like Rachel did. Nevermind that someone like Whoopi’s character would probably never even give someone like Rachel a second chance the way she did. Nevermind that none of it makes sense. Nope, Rachel’s a special snowflake and everyone bends to her will, and everything always goes her way in the end. She gets the boy, she gets the career, she gets everything, and Kurt’s left in the background with no support (save Blaine and his dad) and no NYADA. So Kurt’s entire storyline for this season was just to aid in Rachel’s success.
I’m sorry, RIB, but I cannot fucking accept this. If shit doesn’t change by next season, I’m not watching anymore. You can count me the fuck out.
#what was the point of this storyline #it all feels empty and cheap now
the point of this story line was Rachel, obviously. Kurt was just something to add to it, make Rachel’s storyline more interesting.
